Software Engineering Graduate Programme

On this programme you’ll get to work with some of the most advanced technologies on the market, develop industry-leading specialist skills and help transform our clients around the world.

A key team member, you’ll be creating the innovative technical solutions we’re renowned for and driving technology development programmes for deployment in a variety of environments. As well as understanding what our clients want to achieve, you’ll discover what’s possible within their existing framework and explore the best technologies to achieve the most effective results. You’ll take part in a number of challenging projects for a range of clients, across a variety of industries.

What you’ll learn

Here, it’s not just about the languages you know. Depending on the nature of the project we’ll train you in technologies such as SAP, Oracle, Java/J2EE, C#, Salesforce, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Angular.js. We’ll also up skill you in the best delivery practices such as DevOps, Agile as well as Accenture delivery methods. You’ll also get the chance to gain a range of industry certifications.

But more than that, we want you to understand the bigger picture and develop deep industry expertise. So you’ll get to learn all about IT strategy, the Accenture Technology Vision, data centre technology, security and enterprise architecture. Plus, because of the size and scope of our business, not only will you work with big name providers like Microsoft, Oracle and SAP, but also emerging market innovators.

What’s in it for you

As well as the prospect of a great career centred around improving the way the world works and lives, you can look forward to a competitive starting salary and a generous holiday allowance. Other benefits include a pension scheme, personal laptop, an AMEX card, private healthcare, subsidised gym membership, season ticket loan and much more besides. For a comprehensive list of all our benefits, visit our website.

What we’re looking for

IT skills are essential. So you’ll need a degree in IT, computer science or a technology-related subject. However, if you have a real passion and flair for technology, as well as an understanding of how it can be used, we’ll also consider a maths, science or engineering degree. You’ll have a real interest in software engineering and end-to-end design and delivery, and you’ll also know a thing or two about programming. Overall, we’re looking for a willingness to try new things, a desire for self-improvement and a strong work ethic.

If you are successful, you will need to be available for start dates between Oct 2020 and July 2021.

Where you’ll work

You will need to live within commutable distance of the office you are applying to. Due to the nature of our work, you may be delivering projects on client sites anywhere in the UK and sometimes outside of the UK. You will need to be prepared to travel and sometimes live away from home for long periods of time.
